Chief Editor of Ukrainska Pravda Sevgil Musaieva is a Ukrainian journalist from Crimea. She was appointed one of 100 most influential people in 2022 by Time Magazine. She manages a group of websites run by the newspaper covering areas such as the economy, politics and the political history of the country. From 2008-2013, she served as the Ukrainian business reporter for the daily newspaper Delo, the weekly Vlast Deneg and Forbes Ukraine, specializing in oligarchic studies and corruption within the oil and gas industries. She is co-author of a book about Mustafa Dzhemilev, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people. She is a six-time winner of the Presszvanie, a prize given to the best economic journalists in Ukraine and received the Anthony Moskalenko Memorial Award for her contribution to the development of Ukrainian journalism. The news site Ukrainska Pravda has been covering  every aspect of the conflict. Meaning “Ukrainian truth,” Ukrainska Pravda reaches up to 4 million people with its journalism each day, making it an essential source of information on the war for both those in Ukraine and those following the news from abroad. Under Musaieva’s leadership, UP journalists have reported on everything from Russian war crimes to Ukrainian civilian heroes, as well as ­publishing exclusive lists of oligarchs’ yachts and planes. UP provides a window into the war for people in Russia, where the site is banned. In the war’s first weeks, subscribers to its Russian-language Telegram channel nearly tripled. Ukrainska Pravda, founded in April 2000, was long considered the most influential website portal in Ukraine. Its editor-in-chief Georgiy Gongadze was kidnapped and murdered shortly after the site was founded in 2000. No one has yet been charged with the murder.
