Sumi Somaskanda

Sumi Somaskanda is a news anchor, reporter, and moderator. She lived and worked in Berlin for 14 years before taking on her current post as Washington Correspondent for DW News. Sumi also reports on Germany for various international publications. She was an editor at Berlin Policy Journal, Germany’s first English-language foreign policy magazine and hosted a current affairs podcast for Germany’s former NPR network, KCRW Berlin. She regularly moderates panel discussions and conferences both in Germany and the United States. In addition to her native English, she speaks German and Spanish and is proficient in Tamil.
