Dr Christoph Rauhut has been State Conservator and Director of the Berlin Heritage Authority since October 2018. Previously, he worked as an advisor at the general office of the German Cultural Heritage Committee (DNK) at the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media (BKM) from 2016.
Among other things, he was responsible for the monitoring and coordination of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 (ECHY) and for providing expert policy advice.
Mr. Rauhut studied architecture at RWTH Aachen University and at ETH Zurich (Switzerland). He completed his doctorate in Zurich at the Institute of Construction History and Preservation (IDB). He is a member in various international and national professional associations and, among others, on the board of the Construction History Society.
