Use of cookies and Google Analytics

To make your visit to our sites more attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use cookies. Cookies are small text files stored on your computer. Most of the cookies we use are deleted from your hard drive after ending your browser session (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your computer and allow us to recognize your computer on your next visit (so-called long-term cookies). The ways in which we might analyse user behaviour are described below. However, we have no control over the use of ad server cookies by those third parties broadcasting advertising banners on our sites. Please compare the privacy policies of our partners on the use of such cookies and the information which they store. If you visit our sites, cookies are used to record your areas of interest, such as the type of articles you read or the frequency of use (number of pages viewed in a day). We use cookies in these cases to optimize the advertising you will receive. These are used for targeted marketing, in which the delivery of the advertising is based on previous user behaviour (sites visited, clicks etc.). This so-called “behavioural targeting” is used to ensure that the advertising shown corresponds to the user’s interests and is relevant. This also reduces the user’s repeat experience of advertising and thus increases the quality of the advertising. We also use cookies for statistical analysis of access behaviour, but the individual user remains anonymous. To the extent that such data is passed to external service providers, we have taken technical and organisational measures to ensure that the applicable data security regulations are followed. Our service providers in this respect are etracker and Google Analytics. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. We would like to provide notice that the Google Analytics used on this website has the “anonymizeIP();” code to enable the masking of your IP address when collected by Google Analytics. By activating IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will be truncated before being transmitted to Google. Only in exceptional cases will the whole IP address first be transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google will not associate the data transmitted by your browser with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also opt out from Google’s collection of data generated by cookies concerning the use of this website and prevent Google from further processing such data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at this link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en. The data processed and used in this respect is subject to the data protection regulations of the respective service provider. You can always request information about the data we have stored about you and the personally-identifiable data we have disclosed to third parties and revoke consent previously granted. To do so, send your request to the address/email listed under “Contact”. If you wish to prohibit the ad-server operator from processing and using your data, this revocation of consent must be made to the partner concerned. To do so, please click the link provided above. For more information about Google’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, go to http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/gb.html and https://www.google.de/intl/en/policies/. Internet browsers are by default set to accept cookies. However, users can deactivate the storing of cookies or adjust their browser so that it will be asked before a cookie is sent.
